Apple claims 1.7 million iPhone 4 sales


Despite issues with signal dropout and colouring around the screen, sales of Apple's iPhone 4 have passed 1.7 million mark just three days after its launch on June 24.

"This is the most successful product launch in Apple's history," said Steve Jobs, Apple CEO. "Even so, we apologise to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."

iPhone 4 also features a 5MP camera with LED flash, HD 720p video recording, Apple's A4 processor, a three-axis gyro and up to 40% longer talk time-in a design of glass and stainless steel.

iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of Apple's mobile operating system, which features multitasking, folders, enhanced e-mail management the new iAd mobile advertising platform.
