While Irish consumers have yet to oficially get their hands on the iPad, Apple has already revealed that sales of the tablet have passed the 1 million mark.
Released on April 3 it has taken just just 28 days to reach the milestone figure. Furthermore, iPad users have already over 12 million apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million e-books from the new iBookstore.
"One million iPads in 28 days - that's less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs (pictured). "Demand continues to exceed supply and we're working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers."
The original European launch date for the iPad had to be pushed back a month in Europe, in part to keep up with demand with pre-orders for the 3G version which uses mini-SIM over regular SIM cards.
The announcement also comes hot on the heels of news that Microsoft have abandoned their own tablet product, the Courier.
